This delightfully happy scene shows a swimming instructor with an unusual method for teaching children to swim. He ties the child to a rope attached to a pole and holds them above water as they become comfortable with the sensation. This painting has been created with professional grade acrylics on archival quality canvas paper.

I have been inspired by the different buildings in Manchester from The Town Hall and Manchester Cathedrals to overlooked, abandoned and derelict industrial sites. I am intrigued by the shapes from different buildings, such as the extravagant arched doors, the intricate detailed stained glass windows and the overlapping silhouettes, skylines and interrupted panorama of the city. These fragments of the city and its architecture have been synthesised onto MDF board and architectural shaped laser cut wood and displayed on a 4ft shelf at different levels to interpret my experience of encountering the city; disorientation, decline, unpredictability, chaos. I question the shapes and forms within both architecture and Manchester, resulting in a playful element to my works.

Acrylic paint on wood
I am interested in exploring Manchester and the different incidents that happen every day, from road works to buildings becoming derelict, focusing on shapes, signs and vistas that symbolise the unpredictability of the environment surrounding us. The different shapes found, such as, the elaborate archways and the triangular roof tops have been fused onto wood and displayed on a pew at different levels to represent my experience of encountering of the city.

“Royal orchids”
98×103 cm
Medium
Silk
Technique: outliner gutta, salt, paints
Commentary on Artwork
“Royal orchids” is hand painted scarf with an original design mix of various types of orchid flower. Orchid flowers are arranged in five circles, one in the center and in each corner of the scarf. In the middle of each circle is letter “r” from my logo. I choose golden and purple colours to emphasize the royalty of the design.
“Orange orchids in the snow”
135x40cm
Medium
Silk
Technique: outliner gutta, salt, paints
Commentary on Artwork
“Orange orchids in the snow” is a hand painted scarf with an original design. Warm and bright orange colour of orchids makes great contrast to cold and pale blue background. To create unique background, I used special for painting on silk salt. Salt should be applied on a painted silk while is still wet. Salt absorbs paints and creates unrepeatable design.
“Purple orchids”
Size 90×90 cm
Medium
Silk
Technique: outliner gutta, wax, paints
Commentary on Artwork
“Purple orchids” is a hand painted scarf with an original design. Orchids flowers are placed in the middle of the scarf. The purple colour of flowers contrasts with the green background, which results in a very vibrant scarf. The background cracking effect resembles a bamboo forest.

I painted this image after a Graffiti event in London which I took part in, during the event I saw a Banksy on one of the walls there, somebody dared me to spray on it so I did, not long after I was asked to leave the event and realised that my Facebook account had been personally attacked by Banksy fans. This action seemed quite hypocritical considering the event was a Graffiti painting event.
This was painted with reference to Pop-Art and to practise my abstract style. I paint in this style with no idea of what the completed image will look like, it’s always a nice surprise(I hope). Painting in the Abstract style is my favourite way to paint and using new techniques is always a great challenge for me.

Finished in 2021.it is a Frida Kahlo inspired piece,I think the piece is very avante garde as was Frida and it also shows her as a strong independent no nonsense woman, she had her fair share of bad luck through her life but struggled through and through those bad times she learnt she could paint, she didn’t let any of her mishaps or illnesses hold her back, she went on to achieve greatness. The flower crown, background and jade necklace are all symbols of Fridas beloved Mexico, the weapon signifies just because I’m a woman doesn’t mean I can’t use a gun so don’t mess with me.

Tanjore Painting is a classical South Indian Art form developed in the late 16th century in Thanjavur evoking a sense of timelessness with their alluring illustrations of Puranic scenes. Lord Shiva Family has Lord Shiva, his consort Parvati and their children Ganesha and Karthikeya. The most revered family in all Hindu Gods and Godesses. Mushakraj (Mouse), Nandi (Bull) and Mayur (Peacock) are the vehicles of Ganesha, Shiva and Karthikeya. Each of the Gods and Goddess Parvati are even individually worshipped as their preferred God individually as well. We can have highest union with the Divine even while living in a family and doing our duties with unconditional love and detachment is my take for doing this intricate, classy artwork studded with semiprecious stones and gilded with 22 carat gold foil.
May you find the element, which raise your consciousness higher as you set your eyes on this royal art form.

Spiritually inspired positive affirmations emerging from the shadows to the light of the surface. For me I gain a shift in my mindset the more I meditate on this piece. The quotations used are a constant reminder of what is truly important in this life experience. I would hope the viewer to feel the same sense of self healing. One must be kind with the words and thoughts we feed ourselves. The purple hue is a spiritual connection to the higher self as found in the crown chakra. The gold is not only a happy choice but a majestic overall guidance from spirit reflecting light back to the soul. Crystals of amethyst and clear quartz are added last for their healing and protective properties.

The inspiration behind this artwork is to rebalance the Chakras. Therefore, starting with the base chakra known by its red hue, to set a strong foundation and doing it with self love. My ‘Abstract Affirmations’ are therapeutic as they have helped me to grow and sustain focus on what is really important in life. The world can often be unbalanced in negative and positive energy. My participation is to help heal, one soul at a time. That can only start with loving and accepting ones self, to then project love to inspire someone else to do the same. Each one, teach one. Artwork created using acrylic and mixed media on board. Rose and clear quartz crystals were used to enhance the energy of love and clarity. The gold leaf and glitter are the sparks of light that emerge from the dark, giving a sense of hope. I painted the words in oil, infusing them with Mind & Body Soul Repair oil as a medium to set my healing intentions.

This lion portrait was drawn especially for lovers of these amazing and stunning animals. I have tried to put the detail into the fur and the bone structure of the face to show how strong and powerful this animal is. I am very passionate about wildlife and the protection of these animals. Lions are classed as vulnerable but critically endangered in Africa. We need to protect them or they could be extinct by 2050. The lion looks relaxed in his environment watching the world go by and in thought! This is one of my favorites and i hope like him to.

During 2020 I made a series of works based on limited colour combinations, and the use of line and masks. This landscape was created by mono-printing with a disposable face mask to create line, rhythm, and texture. I then used acrylic pens to draw outline shapes, line provided a more controlled and structured representation of waves on beach. I made this work in late summer 2020 after a visit to the inner Hebrides. I used the masks as they are such an integral part of daily life now, I want them be integrated into my work. The lines are a way of me placing a form of artificial control over a landscape, and also a way to draw the viewers eye into the landscape.

Commentary on Artwork
During late 2020/ early 2021 as the lockdown restrictions once again limited interaction and travel, the building works at Stockingfield on the the Forth and Clyde Canal, near where I live, provided a new focus for my work. A new footbridge across the canal will link 3 parts of the city. The works will be ongoing until 2022. Seeing something positive emerging during a period when so much has been halted or cancelled has provided me with hope and optimism for the future. I hope to record all the stages of the the bridge as the work progresses. A section of the tow path had been closed but was opened to the public over the Christmas holidays. This work is based on the sketches, photos and figurative work I have been working on during January 2021.
This work was created using disposable face masks to create line, rhythm, and texture. There are also pieces on masks collaged into the piece. I have used pencil to create some lines and structure to the piece.

Commentary on Artwork
This piece is one of 11 pieces, from my series “Body’s “using the technique stippling, it shows the difference in body’s and confidence people have. I wanted to look into how self confidence effects how people see themselves. I asked many people to participate in the series and a few came back and said yes and a few said they’d pass, a couple people who participated said to me that this could be an opportunity to boost there self confidence while nobody knowing who they are, except themselves. this really helped my view on my works and how doing this type of work could help the non-stereotypical body types ,like myself, become more confident in themselves.

Wilderness Island Winter Rain

Pastel and Charcoal on Paper
Commentary on Artwork
This piece was drawn in one session, plein air, in the late autumn as rains approached. I love drawing in the location and have done many times. You can loose yourself and feel so far away from the suburban streets of this South London borough, Carshalton. I enjoy the directness of plein air and in this piece I let the rain effect, to a point, what I did as the drops began to effect the way the charcoal and pastel sat on the paper.

This is an entry from a large A2 landscape sketchbook. I wanted to display this as it would be seen in the sketchbook, unedited, with the binders, as that is how it was drawn plein air. This was drawn slightly later than my other submission as is completely in charcoal. It was drawn on location, late autumn, and I enjoyed the challenge of drawing the still water as the sun rose behind me.

Commentary on Artwork
In this artwork I tried to bring some fun and colour into my life. I recreate a common daily scene at home, now the place I spend the time the most. Apparently, It is an every day image but it never happened as it is shown. I used a collage of different elements photographed from different angles and put them all together digitally to build an imaginary space with its own narrative. A home jungle habitated by a home predator, my sister’s kitten. And the prey, my boyfriend’s feet. I feel with this scene I try to express some kind of innocent danger flowing inside the most trustworthily environment, my own house.

Dungeons and Dragons OC, ’19
11.7′ x 8.3′
Pencil, pen ink & colouring pencils
Commentary on Artwork
For the gamer artists.
A conceptual design and head shot for the Dragon and Dungeon’s original character, I created, based on the species Tieflings.
I used the original lineage storyline of the Tiefling, Orianna being of a dragon origin, similiar to the Qun from Dragon Age being a hybrid of human and dragon from their legend of origin. Designed Dec 2019.
Herne the Hunter II, ’18
11.7 ‘ x 8.3 ‘
Water colour pastels, pen ink and colouring pencils
Commentary on Artwork
Conceptualized in 2017 and completed in the autumn of 2018.
While I was exploring paganism, I wanted to explore the prehistoric indigenous tribes of Britain and combine it with the mythology of Herne the Hunter, who has various origins; some say he is a pagan deity of Anglo-Saxon tradition, or a spirit of a deceased hunter roaming the woodland of Sherwood Forest. His design was inspired by the indigenous, 10,000 year old prehistoric Britain called the Cheddar Man, unveiled in 2016/7. As it was found that ancient Britons had a mixture of Gaelic and Middle Eastern routes at the beginning of our agriculture. The writing in the background is the English and Gaelic translation of the Shakespearean poem, where he is portrayed as a malevolent character, a daemon.
Archangel Chamuel, ’19
11.7 ‘ x 8.3 ‘
Pen ink, graphite pencil
Commentary on Artwork
Chamuel is an angelic who is featured in my Archangel/Enochian Angel art series, which I began in 2017 respectfully and have continued.
In New Age spiritual tradition, Chamuel is regarded as an angel of romantic love and is used in summoning rituals to restore peace in a person and encourage self love and romantic connections, and is a messenger of that as well. I wanted to explore the Enochian tradition, an Abrahamic form of high magic that called in the Abrahamic God, the angels and the consultation of daemons, based on the works and writings of King Solomon of the Torah/Old Testament and Enoch, founded by the mystic John Dee of the 15th Century and consult to Queen Elizabeth I, who the former corresponded with angels to divulge the secrets of God’s work.
This one was full of attitude, hence the name .

The War Widows of Sri Lanka
76.2 x 62 cm
Oil on Canvas
Commentary on Artwork
30 years of civil war in Sri Lanka left many women widowed, especially in the North and East. Women who have now been thrust into this role do not have the education nor skills to be able to provide for their families – resulting in a total of 25,732 women-headed families in Batticaloa alone living under the poverty line. Ex-militant women are worst off. Many of these women have suffered abuse due to people preying on their vulnerability and have limited support to report or combat this abuse.

Wind I,II,III, 2018
3 x 120 x 80 cm
Oil on canvas
Commentary on Artwork
Invisible, unknowable, undeniable: Air, as the medium that surrounds and flows through bodies as expression, is the inspiration for this work. The materiality of paint transforms this invisible expression into a visible form. When a baby is born, the Navajo say that the wind within it “unfolds him” and it is then, when the baby breathes, another surrounding wind enters the child. Winds are palpable phenomena – breezes, stormfronts, gusts, crosscurrents – they might be steady, helpful, harmful or even dangerous and we must navigate through these influences with care.
Fear of failure, 2018
120 x 60 cm
Oil on canvas
Commentary on Artwork
A glacial blue painting ruptured by a gold fissure or mended with gold lacquer in the style of kintsugi? Fear of failure operates within the concept of ‘the workmanship of risk’, more than just a means of repair, kintsugi promotes a hopeful philosophy; unexpected damage can be an opportunity.

Jars of clay
90cm x 70cm
Acrylic on Paper framed
Commentary on Artwork
This painting is an allegory of us as humans and the ways that we can lock up our emotions. When things get too much our lives crack like the Jars and affect those around us. On the other hand if we have the life of the Spirit pouring into our lives when things get to much and we show our vulnerability the water which is in us which is the Spirit can spill into other people’s lives around us. Also showing vulnerability is not weakness people around us can be helped positively when we open up and allow our lives to affect others around us. Each one of us has treasure within us that must be shown and deposited in others lives around us. We are fragile like Jars but this fragility is our strength.
Unzipped Heaven
40cm x 40cm
Acrylic on Canvas
Commentary on Artwork
The butterfly is an allegory for the Spirit within us and the supernatural force causes three dimensions of the cosmos to collide opening up a portal which brings a spiritual reality from a different dimension into the current time and space we are in. The city in the background is my home town of Manchester which is what the picture is about. It’s about that need in our lives to connect with the spiritual realm and how powerful that can be, causing our reality to light up just like the v shape in the painting.
The shaking
28cm x 42cm
Acrylic on Card framed
Commentary on Artwork
This is a painting I did when I lived in Argentina in South America it is of one of the main high streets in Buenos Aires where I lived called Corrientas. The bus depicted is typical of the buses over there which I frequented on a regular basis. Like all my pieces there is a slant on the scene you can see. Once again I have painted a spiritual reality on top of the depiction. Here there are treasure constructions in the buildings which you will find a lot in my painting, talking about the true identity of the place as being rich in a whole sense. This was painted when I lived over there just after the economic crash out there. At the same time everything was being shaken in the foundation of the country and this is reflected by the street that looks like an earthquake and the title of the painting.

‘A Mother’s Love Knows No Boundaries’
These parents were waving to their son from afar. He was the one who took the reference photo and who commissioned me to paint it as a present for his Mother’s special birthday. For me, there are three people in this painting and the narrative really tugged on my heartstrings. Possibly in part due to the fact that I had just lost my own Mum but also the thought of ever being forced to keep away from my son in the future is incomprehensible and yet so many millions of people are still currently going through this.

Commentary on Artwork
This is a recent piece that’s part of a project I’m currently working on – Declarations That Are Neither Positive or Negative. It’s a project based on the recovery process I’m currently going through, and I’m hoping that others who are going through recovery can relate. Bad thoughts about ourselves plague us all at one point or another, and with this project I’m choosing words and phrases that have affected me personally that can be transformed from negative to positive. Loneliness has hit everyone hard over the last year or so and I’m reclaiming the word alone.
It’s hard to be lonely. It can be the worst feeling in the world. I want people to reclaim their loneliness, and see it as time to think, create, read, whatever it is that they like to do whilst alone. When people see this piece I want them to think for themselves and themselves only, about their own loneliness and how they deal with it.
Loneliness is a part of life and is ongoing. To be alone is not a terrible thing. I created this piece alone, and am working on this project alone. Sometimes, being alone is necessary to the continuation of recovery.

Commentary on Artwork
As a teacher, I’ve visited Normandy on school residential trips twice and found it to be a very moving and poignant experience. It’s a beautiful part of France, steeped in history, and introducing the children to the area and experiencing what is, for some, their first time away from home has been very meaningful.
On my most recent visit, the weather had been poor but it brightened up on our last afternoon and we took 50+ excited eleven-year-olds onto the beach to watch the sun set. The tide was way out. It was perfectly still and calm and the light was absolutely breath-taking. I took a series of photographs. With the whole pandemic situation and lockdown, I’ve had lots of time to practise my art and it really helped me to paint this scene and remember fun times in the great outdoors with special kids and adults. It lightened my heart to immerse myself in happy memories.

Acrylic and enamel on canvas
This combines several ideas: it stems from a series about the fen at night. I live on the flatlands of East Anglia, rain is frequent, and figure sits in the downpour like a god replenishing himself. It could be Tlaloc from the Mexican pantheon, but essentially it is an ongoing dialogue and critique of the Draconian ant-gay laws enacted by various nations around the word recently. It is basically a dream image and does not require the legal commentary and opposition to elucidate its contents.
40 x 30 ins
acrylic and enamel on canvas
The original ‘Fen at Night’ was purely abstract. The ladies I often teach in the next village wanted badly to know what the outrageous subtext was, and were somewhat disappointed when I explained there wasn’t one – quite and unusual thing for me. The man lies in the position of Chac Mool, the Red Jaguar of the Mayan myth. He awaits the deposition of hearts. It is a metaphor for the unrequited, a reflection of the aging artist’s lack.
40 x 30 ins
Acrylic on canvas
I do abstract work, but it is very, very rarely pure. The ‘content’ and ‘meaning’ are there in the background and genesis. However, the relevance of both starry nights and geological strata are there in the image.

This illustration for me, represents my raving scene. Going out partying has always been a firm favourite of mine, but during the pandemic, that whole industry has all but collapsed. Andhera is the hindi term for darkness. I created this modified self portrait over a period of time in lockdown where I wanted to depict my emotions in the form of art. It is often considered in drawing portraits that the eyes and the facial expressions is what conveys the emotion to the viewer, so I removed both and used a different composition where the viewer may still feel the emotion, however it may be the lack of eyes that convey the heavy message in this case.

Selfless is the state where we let go of our own ego, our own desires, our own personality and connect with the oneness of the Universe. When one lets go of their ego, the only thing that remains is an abundance of love and divinity. This is the real ‘self’ that connects all of us.
Seeds of Hope

Commentary on Artwork
This painting highlights the essence of HOPE… hope of every positive within us. The painting shows hands, which are holding ‘seeds of hope’. The world is what you believe; so when you plant a ‘seed of hope’, you will see that manifest into reality. Seeing your dreams actually turn into reality is true happiness. So, when someone finds a seed of hope within, that’s their real treasure.

The image this way up shows a landscape of trees with birds flying in the distance, however, it’s reflection is mountains with a starry sky. This is to remind us that we should never take what we see on face value, we should question what we see and never assume that our thoughts are truth.

Watercolour on paper
Commentary on Artwork
Although unusual, this piece of farm machinery is a great subject for a watercolour painting. It captures the fading light of the setting sun and makes it interesting to look at.
Cotswold Cottage
26 x 35 cm
Watercolour on 300gsm cotton paper
Commentary on Artwork
This is a watercolour painting of a charming cottage in the heart of Cotswold in England painted on 300gsm cold pressed watercolour paper. The warm ochre coloured stones are very typical of Cotswolds masonry and it’s worth a visit to see the beautiful villages there. This painting was done plein air. The result was achieved by using transparent washes with mainly yellow ochre, burnt sienna and cobalt blue. I used a limited palette and left the painting airy so to speak to give a feeling of simplicity.
Peachy
28 x 38cm
Watercolour on paper
Commentary on Artwork
This is a watercolour painting where I have tried to give a velvety feel to the peaches using many transparent layers. The leaves were painted in a loose impressionistic manner giving it a undefined look. Watercolour provides me with ability to catch the lightness and transparency gradually building up to the intensity of solid colour.

Giclee print of a digital art piece
Commentary on Artwork
This piece is about Black women being confident in their beauty and who they are. The butterflies are a symbol of transformation- she is becoming the best version of herself, a higher version of herself. The parrot represents the power of speech. She’s free with her thoughts and isn’t afraid to speak her truth.

Uni pin Black Ink Illustration on Italian Art Board
Commentary on Artwork
This Illustration aims to raise awareness of the impact humans are having on the future evolution of our most treasured marine life. How are the plastic pollutants, and activities we humans are doing n the oceans, impacting on the evolutionary structure of the world’s most beautiful marine life? The illustration asks the question: Will the evolution of turtles become morphed by human involvement and change direction of it’s projected evolution? This picture is part or a larger series titled ‘Don’t Mess With Our Homes’ looking at all human influent on the animal direction of evolution.

Rhino Bus

Uni pin Black Ink Illustration on Italian Art Board
Commentary on Artwork
The planet on which we live is blessed by the beauty of the natural world. This point in time is the result of all how evolution has adapted to inhabit the world in its current form. Both animals and humans brought together to this point in time and history. Rainforest, Oceans, Deserts and Mountains all housing feeding, protecting and supporting the eco system in which we live. What if we become one? What if the animal world becomes so intertwined with 21st Century Human Race that they morph and evolve into one being? This Illustration explores the natural evolution of the Rhino and how it’s evolutionary direction may be ‘modified’ by the impact of human to become a ‘morphed’ animal both of nature and of human influence.

The Wave Maker
42 x 29.7 cm
Uni pin Black Ink Illustration on Italian Art Board
Commentary on Artwork
Living in Brighton (UK) there is a beautiful relic on an Old Pier (The West Pier) split between the Brighton and Hove beach fronts. There is controversy and local interest into the future of the structure of what could be both considered a ruin (to be destroyed) or a landmark (to be maintained)?
But consider this… consider that the structure is more than just a web of steel poles in the ocean. What if this is the epicentre, the head quarters, the very home of waves? Waves have to come from somewhere and this illustration delights the idea of fantasy that there is a ‘magical’ character, unknown to all of us, who creates waves. Using the natural power of fish and marine life this invention of cogs, pumps, pullies, levers, pipes gas and air controls all the waves of the ocean.
